Microstructural and intergranular corrosion properties of Inconel 625 superalloys fabricated using wire arc additive manufacturing

Abstract Inconel 625 superalloy samples were fabricated using wire arc additive manufacturing (WAAM). The phase composition, microstructure, anti-corrosion, and mechanical properties of the WAAM analyzed. microstructure alloy showed good forming quality, no defects, metallurgical bonding within specimens. metallographic structure exhibited primarily γ -Ni granular precipitated phases; average microhardness transverse longitudinal cross-sections sample was 243.5 243.3 HV 0.1 , respectively. Yield tensile strength as well elongation, decrease in area, room-temperature impact values this equal to 450 736 MPa, 38% 52%, 152 J, intergranular corrosion test results indicated that rate is 0.609 mm/year, indicating excellent resistance corrosion.
